TEXT: Psalm 51: 2
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
Key verse: Psalm 19:13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the
The evil things you do convicts and disturbs you. You are responsible for them. You acted them out by your will power. You exercise your will power wrongly to do evil, to speak evil, even to abuse God. A woman once called me and said, “I am having blasphemous thoughts in me against God. I don't know what to do. These thoughts keep coming. What should I do?” I said, “Those thoughts are not coming from you, but from Satan. God does not count them as sins against you because you have not accepted them.”
They are like a mosquito disturbing you. You must make up your mind to destroy that mosquito. You are not guilty because those thoughts are not from you. Satan only wants you to accept them. If you start accepting and liking them, then sin comes in because you are using your will power. If you use your will power willingly to commit immorality, you are a sinner and you are responsible for your action. That is why guilt came on those people that accused the woman caught in adultery and wanted to stone her. They became guilty and all of them left.
John 8:10,11 When Jesus had lifted up himself and saw none but the woman he said unto her, woman where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? She said, no man Lord. And Jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more. This impartation of power of righteousness is also an evidence of forgiveness of sins, of born again and of reconciliation with God “Go, and sin no more” means you have received power not to do those things again.
Jesus can give you the power to overcome sin. Every saint that died and went to heaven enjoyed this power while they lived on earth. As a Christian, sin should not be part of your life anymore. You can live free of sin to the shame of Satan. 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Thought for the day: The sinner that comes to Jesus can receive power not to commit sin again.
Song for the day: He is able, abundantly able, to deliver, and to save….
Bible reading for the day: Psalm 13-16; Acts 18
