(Int'l Director Of Holiness Revival Movement Worldwide) DATE: FRIDAY AUGUST 2, 2019 TEXT: 1 PETER 1:14-16 KEY VERSE: Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Abide in doctrines that perfect you in holiness for eternal life. They will build you upon the rock and keep you from falling as we read in today's Bible reading. Sin is a weakening force. The presence of sin in your life will automatically weaken you spiritually, no matter how small the sin is. In fact, one sin is enough to take you to hell. Satan knows this eternal truth of God, which many believers don't know. Something as small as the earring you hang on your ear (which is disobedience), is enough to weaken you. Small as it is, it will never allow you to stand in the day of fierce temptation because you will be lacking in power. Get this straight, it is not possible for a woman to be wearing jewelry of any kind or unnatural presentation of her hair such as perming and be holy. The property of holiness has been damaged. That single act of disobedience against God has a great weakening force that will weaken her state of righteousness. She cannot be holy. Is it not God that will make her holy? As long as it is raining, you cannot dry your cloth in the sun. If you spread your cloth outside it will not get dry. It is, therefore, impossible for you to live in disobedience (putting on strange hair or jewelries etc.) and expect God to make you holy. That is an eternal impossibility! You are just not ready for it. Consecration is required for holiness and consecration means “be ye holy.” What God is saying here is that you do what is required to make yourself totally cleansed according to your ability, then I will take it up from there and do that which is beyond your ability, to perfect you in holiness. But if you have not done your part, you have not done away with those things you ought to remove, you have not changed your lifestyle, you have not stopped those things you ought not to be doing, how would God make you holy? He will not hear you, and without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Thought for the day: God will not deal with you outside His holiness. The whole body operates under the leadership of the head. When we travel together in a bus, there must be a driver. Also, there must be obedience in Christian life to Christian leaders in small and great things and in simple and difficult things. Do not challenge the authority of your leader for God has made him a pastor over you. If you say he is not fit to be your leader, then you too are not fit to be his sheep. Restitution is the act of righting a past wrong. It is also the restoration of what has been wrongly acquired or giving back the equivalent of what has been lost or damaged. God gave this commandment to compensate people that are hurt by our wrongdoings and in the spirit of promoting love among ourselves. John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." Restitution is a deterrent to wrongdoing when one considers the pain and backlash associated with it. For instance, a pastor that commits adultery and needs to restitute to his wife and stand before the church to make confession will pass through a lot of emotional trauma and shame, apart from other disciplinary actions that will follow. Luke 5:4 The person that made these promises is too great to be overlooked by you. Heaven and earth have known and recognized Him to be great. Looking at the nature of the person that made the promises, why would you not trust Him? It is God that told you that He will do what He said He will do. Because of His Person,believe what He told you. Act on what He says and wait for His promises. The Centurion saw the dignity, personality and the greatness of Jesus. He caught a revelation on the divinity of Jesus. He knew and understood the authority of Jesus, hence he said, Lord, you don't need to go all the way to my house. Just speak a word only and I will believe you and it shall be done. I know Your Omnipotence and I also know that distance cannot be a barrier between your word and where my servant is. I believe in your authority. That is faith. Do you have the same conviction on the divinity and omnipotence of God? If yes, it is the Holy Ghost that has convicted you that way. This is the reason why you should believe and count it done. Your freedom will truly come, and you will sit down and relax with your testimonies. Don't mind the time it may take for you to see what you have believed. As long as it is God that said it, it is done. This is what Apostle Peter was saying, Master, we have utilized all professional skills of fishing that we have, yet there was no result to show. However, since you are omniscient and you have spoken, I will obey you. I have known so much about you. I have known what you are capable of doing and have witnessed you doing them. I have known your word never fails. Since you are the one telling me to do it, I will do it. |
