Jeremiah 2:31 O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
They boast of impressive mega cathedral of high sitting capacity, but the worshippers are spiritually poor and miserable. They point to the properties they have and the physical developments and say “we are rich,” but spiritually, they are poor and miserable. The hearts of the people have been wounded and they are angry. They are bitter, they are poor, and they are unhappy because they are being deceived.
Outwardly, they may not know this, but in their spiritual state the Lord says, “Knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.”
Can you see? How do you come to a church, a great church, beautiful, with great crowds, everything looking physically impressive; all the glory, lights shining everywhere and say, “Oh, miserable; these people are wretched!” That is what the Lord is saying.
You are wretched, miserable, and poor; you are blind and naked. These physical things cannot give righteousness to the people. This is why in Holiness Revival Movement we don’t compel people to give money. It is because we don’t want you to become miserable and we too don’t want to become miserable because of you. All these levying members for this project and that project, we avoid it here as much as possible.
We have Jesus, the Owner of this Movement who will give us the money. I am happy when I see people worshipping in freedom in this Movement without the burden of money. When we announce that you should indicate whatever you are willing to support the work in the whole year, it is not an unceasing obligation on you. If that year passes, that is the end of it. Your pledge is, “If I have, I will give.” If you don’t have, God knows your sincerity.
2 Corinthians 8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
If on the other hand you have but don’t want to give, God knows your insincerity. He knows your life so we don’t want to put any burden on you. We don’t want your righteousness to vanish because we want physical things in this world.
Thought for the day:
Give to God willingly, not forcefully.
Song for the day:
Lord I give you my heart, I give you my soul, I live for you alone……
Bible reading for the day:
Psalm 25-27; Acts 20:17-38
