TEXT: ROMANS 1: 16-17 16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Key Verse: Habakkuk 2: 4, “Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.”
When someone repents from sin and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ through faith, he receives the salvation of God and becomes a new creature. His new relationship with God is
characterized by newness of life, the fear of God, righteousness and obedience to God's word. He is considered a just man. As was Noah, the just and perfect man is the one who walks with God, doing the will of God with his whole heart. He is a true believer of Christ.
Romans 1:16-17 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it
is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
The just man will continue to believe and trust in God at all times, and in all situations. The just man will always persevere through trials and persecution to remain just. The just man knows that he cannot defile his garment with unbelief. He has to keep on believing. “Take heed brethren, lest there be any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God” (Hebrews 3: 12). The just man cannot be an unbelieving believer, because Revelations 21: 8 is not his portion. “But the fearful, and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake of fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
The just man lives by faith and continues to believe in God's omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience, continues to believe in the willingness of God and in the faithfulness of God. Let us keep on believing and maintain our justified state, because the just man is an active believer.
