EVERY WORD OF GOD FOR DAILY LIVING

Psalm 135:6 - Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did He in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
Don’t exercise the authority you don’t possess like the seven sons of Sceva. What is the place of miracle aprons and handkerchiefs in the church? These were unique miracles that God did and He did not continue with them, so you don’t ask Him to repeat them. He chooses to do them by Himself. You just tell Him what you want, He can choose what to do. He chose to release those miracles and they may happen once in a generation. Don’t ask Him the second time because He didn’t do it the first time because somebody asked. He revealed His will in them.
Now, let us look back. He caused the Red Sea to divide. Will you now start asking the Red Sea to divide again? It is not a promise given to you in the physical sense that whenever you want to cross the river, just ask God that he should divide it for you. It was a unique miracle performed by Moses, by Joshua, by Elijah, by Elisha and that ended the issue of the sea dividing. Instead of looking for a boat or a way of crossing the river, would you stand by the riverbank and start saying, “God of Elijah, dry up this river so that I can cross?” If you do that, you will stay there for eternity because He has not given you that promise in scripture.
When Satan told Jesus, “If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from this pinnacle, for God has said He will give His angels charge over you and that they will bear you in their hands so that you do not dash your foot against a stone.” Did Jesus jump? Rather Jesus replied, “It is written thou shall not tempt the Lord your God.” So, don’t be high-minded; don’t be proud and start becoming adventurous with miracles.
The Lord told Moses, “Strike the rock to bring out water for My people.” Is the rock producing water for the church now? Have you heard that the church of Christ gathered together in a great congregation, where their water finished; and then they went and spoke to the rock and water came out?
No! These are things that happened in His sovereignty. They are not the normal path He has carved out for your normal daily living. There are promises of regular or normal living that God has provided which are different from the spectacular uncommon miracles you want to manifest pride in.
Thought for the day:
You cannot dictate to God how He does His work in the life of men.
Song for the day:
God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform…….
Bible reading for the day:
Isaiah 16-18; Ephesians 1
