KEY VERSE: 1 CORINTHIANS 16:23
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
A testimony from Brother Mark Agoh of Kuje Chapter:
I earnestly desired to complete my restitution at NNPC office, Lagos, which was my last place of work as a civil servant. I was in charge of housing estates anywhere I was posted to. In Lagos, I was placed in charge of NNPC housing properties of over 200 houses; I hired, prepared, renovated and furnished them. In carrying out these jobs, I took some items recovered from houses and shared the remainder to the staff, rugs, air conditioners, gas cookers and other items. In 2001, my manager asked me to generate and process jobs for a contractor with no physical jobs attached. Money was paid to the contractor for the manager.
This evil act has been hunting me since I learned of restitution in HOREMOW. I prayed to God after doing two restitutions, to give me an opportunity to travel from Abuja to Lagos and carry out this restitution. In February 2020, my allowance was almost reduced to half because of wrong deduction for house rent in Lagos. I vacated the house since December 2018, and they had stopped deducting the rent since January 2019. The property had since been re-allocated to another staff. I lodged complaints of the erroneous rent deduction and they confirmed that it was a mistake. I was asked go to Lagos for a letter from the manager to clear me, rectify the wrong deduction and stop further deductions.
In Lagos, I began by telling the manager of all my wrongdoings as the head of estate services even in the presence of a senior security officer. I explained to the manager and asked him for forgiveness but that he could ask me to pay by deducting from my salary. The manager said that this restitution was the first of its kind in NNPC. He forgave me and prayed for me. I then distributed HOREMOW materials in the office. It was after this that I told the manager about the wrong deductions they carried out on my salary. I was given a letter to the Abuja pay office to stop further deductions and to pay me the arrears.
