WEDNESDAY JUNE 5, 2019
1 John 5: 14, 15
Ephesians 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Why are we confident that God will answer when we pray? It is because of:
(1) The Testimonies of the Bible. God answered the prayers of Bible saints. That gives us confidence today that He will answer our prayers too. Psalm 65:2 "O thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee shall all flesh come."
(2) The Historical Testimonies. These refer to the testimonies that we have heard from the history of Christianity up to our time. We have heard how God intervened in people's lives and families; how God answered prayers over the Church, societies and nations. That gives us the confidence that God will answer our prayers too.
(3) Contemporary Testimonies. These refer to testimonies of our fellow brothers and sisters - the ones we are witnesses to. They testify to our hearing that God answers their prayers. This gives us assurance that God will answer our prayers too.**
(4) Our Past Testimonies. Even we ourselves have testimonies of answered prayers. In the hard circumstances of our lives, during the difficult situations we passed through; we prayed, we called upon God and the Lord answered. That gives us assurance for present requests that they will receive similar attention from God. Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.**
