TEXT: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:17
(17) Pray without ceasing.
KEY VERSE: PSALM 37:5
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and He shall bring it to pass.
Prayer is the believer’s duty; so pray constantly and let no circumstance discourage you from praying to God.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
Ask God for strength in doing everything. Prayer will renew your strength. Prayer delivers from the power of Satan.
Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
The enemy meant to kill Peter, but constant prayer was made for him and God delivered him from death. Leaders of the church should learn to pray constantly and not only relying on prayer warriors. As a church leader, keep on praying to keep your spiritual tempo and victory of your life over the world and Satan.
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
We are exhorted to pray without ceasing. Luke 18:1says, “And he speak a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” Do not cease or faint in prayers even when there is delay in answer. That woman in Luke 18:2-5 kept coming and the judge said, because of the woman’s continual coming she will weary me; I will avenge her. The Lord is saying to you don’t listen to delay, just continue praying. Jesus went the third time, fell before the Father and repeated the same word. So do not stop your prayer on that matter. Pray until you receive answer to that problem. You must have greater faith to do what’s needed, beloved!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
