EVERY WORD OF GOD FOR DAILY LIVING

Psalm 118:8, 9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
Redirect your confidence from man to God. Are you putting confidence in your relations and perhaps your spouse? That is why you missed it. Put your confidence in your God. No matter the love your spouse has for you, he or she is capable of disappointing you. She is capable of going back on her promise to you. Trust in God rather than putting your confidence in man, for vain is the help of man.
Man may make promise today and not be available to fulfill it tomorrow. He may promise to employ you in the office, but a higher power may remove him from office before he fulfills the promise. Man may even tell you something in sweet tongue to deceive you. He may make a promise with sincerity but may become incapacitated and unable to fulfill it.
Circumstances have just changed and he himself is now looking for help.
That is why you should put your trust in God alone. May be your eyes are on great people of stature, who are highly placed in your family or outside your family. Know this truth that great men often have great problems too.
You may go to hospital with full confidence in the medical doctor and brag, “This is a Consultant Surgeon of many years' experience. Therefore, as I go for this surgery it shall be safe and perfectly done.” Do not say so.
The Lord is rather saying you should put your confidence in Him for your healing and safety. Is that expert surgeon not capable of making mistakes? Your life is not under the control of that man.
God is the one controlling it. It is God that determines who lives or dies. Only God heals. That doctor can even be manipulated by Satan to your harm. External circumstances can overcome and manipulate his mind.
If you have any dealing with man, put your confidence in God, not man. Even as you relate with material things, like your motorcycles and vehicles, do not trust in the soundness of the engine because it can disappoint you terribly during the journey.
Trust in the living God for the well being of that vehicle as you embark on that journey.
