TEXT: Luke 24:13-35
KEY VERSE: Luke 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
In today's Bible reading (Luke 24) we see the disaster of ignorance of prophecy. Two disciples of Jesus Christ were on their way to Emmaus.
Jesus had just resurrected but they didn't know. As they went they were
discussing in sad tone. Jesus drew near but they did not recognize Him, then He asked them why they were downcast. They responded, “are you a stranger in Jerusalem that you don't know what is happening these days?”
For their abject ignorance, Jesus rebuked them sharply in verse 25, “O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken.”
Because they were ignorant of prophecy, Jesus called them “fools.” He called His own
disciples and followers fools. Yet these disciples must have been among His best to be called apostles.
What does that tell you? As far as God is concerned, if you are ignorant of prophecy he regards you as a fool.
He said, “Should Christ not suffer these things and then enter into His glory? You are talking about how they did this to Christ, how your leaders did this to Christ; you should have known that they will do it to Christ because they were
I am trying to let you know that you must from today begin to know
what is written in the Biblical word of prophecies so that when the things begin to happen, and they are news to the people of the world, you should
know that they are fulfilments of divine agenda at the revealed time.
This same ignorance existed in old time in the synagogue among the high priests of God, the chief priest of God, the scribes of God, Pharisees, Sadducees, the
learned and religious leaders of that time who were completely ignorant of divine agenda and biblical prophecies.
Jesus described them as blind leaders of the blind. What a reprimand! Don't serve God in foolishness. Research on
the scripture to unearth hidden truths and prophecies for your edification.
Thought for the day:
Wisdom demands that you serve God in the knowledge of truth.
Song for the day:
Send the light, send the light, oh Lord Jehovah send the light…..
Bible reading for the day:
Isaiah 24-26; Ephesians 4
