TEXT: Matthew 7:3-5
KEY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 9:27 - But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
You have passion to lead many to salvation but you yourself are not saved. Why is this so? You are eager to give others medical attention, but you yourself are sick. You are anxious to go to a crusade. What are you going to tell your audience in the crusade? Will you tell them to repent and believe in Jesus? What about your own immorality? What about the rough life you are living?
Consider the way you now treat your wife; rough and angry. Will you not repent? You are going to the crusade to ask another man there to repent. What about you? The man you want to preach to is probably better off than you, but you think he needs to repent. What about you? You are struggling because your conscience is there to trouble and judge you. You are a hypocrite! Matthew 7:5 - Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
How many people know that they are hypocrites? You may not agree, but Jesus says you are. You have a problem. In fact, you have a bigger problem because to him that knows his Master’s will and doeth it not, he shall be beaten with many stripes. You know your Master’s will, you know your Master’s Word, you know that your Master wants you to talk to Him now. You even know that your Master wants to speak to you, but you have no time for Him. You are busy on other things. You don’t have time! So, Brother, Sister, care for your spirit and soul.
A Christian program is coming up that will help your spiritual wellbeing, but you tell your pastor that you want to travel. Are you thinking well? Are you part of those going to heaven? What will it profit you if you gain the whole world and lose your own soul? Don’t you know how to get your priorities right? If you were in a crusade ministering to others, would you have rushed home halfway to attend to other things? This is the time for you to care for your own soul, but you don’t understand.
Thought for the day:
You have come to know the truth, why are you still living a lie?
Song for the day:
Will you be ready when the Lord shall come……
Bible reading for the day:
Proverbs 21-22; 2 Corinthians 4.
