TEXT: REVELATION 3:7-10
(7) And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
(8) I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
(9) Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
(10) Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
KEY VERSE: REVELATION.3:17
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increase with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind and naked.
Various denominations teach unscriptural doctrines, customs and traditions to the people to emphasize their uniqueness and differentiate their members from others. The Word of God which promotes truth, love, righteousness, and unity is left aside. Hence, their people are led astray into error, from love to hatred and from unity to division. They lead them away from God because they want to rule over them. This was how Jeroboam brought idolatry and introduced another god to Israel.
1 Kings 12:27-28
If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their Lord, even unto Rehoboam King of Judah; and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah. Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
They tell their ignorant members, “We shall pray on water and it shall become holy water that will cure sicknesses and diseases and perform various kinds of miracles.” Who prayed on water in Bible days? Where is the promise in the Bible for praying on water? They tell them “Buy these handkerchiefs and aprons and hang them in your house to drive away witches and wizards.” Is that not witchcraft? Is that different from what the native doctors do? Let no man spoil you and turn your eyes to anything that is fleshly and not heavenly.
3 John 9-11
I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
