HOLINESS REVIVAL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY: PASTOR PAUL RIKA INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR Of Holiness Revival Movement Worldwide TOPIC: GOD’S REDEMPTION PLAN INCLUDES SANCTIFICATION OF BELIEVERS Date: Wednesday December 30 Text: Ephesians 5:25-27 "25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." Key verse:
"1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil and the very God of peace sanctify you wholly." While praying for the disciples, the Lord Jesus Christ said, “Thine they were and You have given them to Me.” He laid claim to them because they have become children of God already. He said this before He died, showing that the people He was praying for their sanctification were already believers. He said this because God’s redemptive plan includes sacrifice for believers’ sanctification. The death of Jesus on the cross is first of all a sacrifice for sinners’ salvation, then a sacrifice for believers’ sanctification. As an illustration, today’s reading text says, “Husbands love your wives even as Christ also loves the Church.” You are married already, love your wife, even as Christ also has gotten believers saved already but gave Himself for them to be sanctified. He died for them that He might sanctify them. It means moving you a step above salvation required the death of Christ. To bring believers to holiness required the death of Christ. Sanctification is an experience of righteousness, as all the blemishes manifesting in the life of a believer are cleansed through sanctification experience. Carnality no longer manifests. You are sanctified so that you can be clean and holy, having no blemish, spot, wrinkle or any form of impurity. That is God’s desire for you and he is ready to do it for you as you make up your mind to fulfill the simple conditions of purpose of heart, decision and determination. Renounce, reject and refuse every appearance of sin and evil. Come to that state that you have made up your mind that sin will not have dominion over you and that sin will never rule your life. All carnality must be gotten rid of. Your heart shall not envy a man, nor lust after a woman. Hear righteous Job speak: “I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?” (Job 31:1). Make up your mind to shun sin and live a life of holiness; and when you come to that level, it will be wonderful and great. It is then you are ready for sanctification. Thought for the day: Renounce, reject and refuse every appearance of sin or evil. Song for the day: Lord prepare me a sanctuary, pure and holy..... Bible reading for the day: Zechariah 13-14; Revelation 21
