TEXT: John 10:27-30
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.


KEY VERSE: Mathew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Upon this rock I will build my church. That is a spiritual church. As for the physical church, the gate of hell has already prevailed against them. They have burnt down many churches and their members scattered. Is that not prevailing against them? But for the spiritual assembly, the forces of darkness cannot prevail. As the Head of the church is spiritual, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, so also the body is a spiritual church.

The church of Christ is committed to sacred matters of Christianity that affect the soul and spirit of man. The church is concerned with your spirit and soul to get your soul saved from sin, to get your spirit sanctified, to get your life perfected. That is the aim of the spiritual church. It is the corrupt church that wants to get the people satisfied physically by bringing comedians to make them laugh.

They want to laugh away their problems. Can you laugh away your problem? Can you laugh away ordinary stomach ache or headache? That is carnality. But the spiritual church is poised to give you divine healing and get sicknesses and diseases out of your life. It is interested in bringing the glory of the Lord.

All the thought of a spiritual church for the people is how can you be changed? How can you be better than you are? The prayer of the spiritual church is “O Lord, make them better. Father, solve their problems. Open their eyes that they may see you and not man.” The will of man is irrelevant but all things are done according to the perfect will of God. The spiritual church is concerned about your eternal life, how you will go to heaven; working hard that you will not go to hell.

The church of Christ is committed to spiritual things. Essentially, the spiritual church is primarily focused on the salvation of souls through faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, the holiness of men for conformity to Christ, deliverance of men from hell and getting them to heaven through the word of truth and holiness. By their fruit you will recognize the spiritual church.

Thought for the day: The spiritual church is all about God and heaven.
