EVERY WORD OF GOD FOR DAILY LIVING BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA (Int. Director Holiness Revival Movement Worldwide) DATE: FRIDAY, JULY 3, 2020 TEXT: Mark 16:17-18 Key verse: Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. The Bible says these signs shall follow them that believe. In my name they shall lay hands upon the sick and the sick shall recover. This is a normal and regular miracle.
Pray in the name of Jesus for the sick; call upon the Lord in the name of Jesus and believe, it shall be done. (For whosoever shall say to this mountain be thou removed and be cast into the sea and shall not doubt it in his heart but shall believe that that which he sayeth shall come to pass he shall have whatsoever he said). Mountain signifies anything that blocks your way. This is the normal expectation that should guide the life of a Christian. However, there are unique experiences such as when Jesus’ garment healed the woman with the issue of blood, which should not be taken as a regular miracle. Many people thronged Him and touched His garment but by faith she was stirred to believe that if she could touch the helm of Jesus’ garment she would be healed. When Jesus said, “who touched me?” Peter wondered and said, “Everybody is pushing you and you say who touched you?” What Peter didn’t realize was that one person touched Him by the manifestation of the gift of faith, which was not common. The Holy Spirit manifested in an unusual way. Her touch brought divine healing. However, we must understand that the garment of Jesus did not continue to heal the sick. If it had continued to heal the sick, I tell you, some people would have tried to kill him to take His garment or thieves would have waylaid Jesus to cart away his garment for business. Like Simon the sorcerer, they would have tried to acquire it for commercial business of healing the sick. In Acts of the Apostles, the shadow of Peter healed the sick. Did the shadow of James also heal the sick? Did the shadow of Andrew heal the sick? Did the shadow of Paul heal the sick? It was Peter alone. It was a unique manifestation. Did the shadow of Peter keep on healing the sick? No, it was for a season. It operated for some time and ended. Otherwise, people would have abandoned Jesus and be following the shadows of Peter. God will not allow that kind of thing to happen. The Name of Jesus is what is given to us. Use it! Thought for the day: Trust in the name of Jesus for all your needs. Song for the day: The name, the name of Jesus, is greater and higher than all names…… Bible reading for the day: Job 26-28; Acts 11

Thank God for the power in the name of Jesus. The name is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it and they are saved. Glory be to God in the highest. Hallelujah
