TEXT: ROMANS 16: 3-4
1 Corinthians 16:19 “The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.”
She listened to Paul and did what he instructed her to do. The holy scripture of God shows how Priscilla sacrificed her house for the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in order to reach out to others. There is a blessed reward when you obey and humble yourself to true and genuine ministers of the
Priscilla understood this secret of the gospel without pretending as the Pharisees. The Pharisees build the graves of the prophets and painted them white as a way to show respect but inwardly practice deceit. They claimed that if it were their days they wouldn't have killed the prophets of Israel as did their fathers.
In other words, they would have treated the prophets nicely and with respect. By character, Pharisees are usually self-righteous people with pretending behaviors. Jesus examined their hearts and pronounced woe to them. The Pharisees on several accusations attempted to kill Jesus, the greatest of all prophets.
Nonetheless, Aquila and Priscilla still remain perfect examples of obedient children of God. They demonstrated humility and supported the work of God as commended by the Apostle Paul. Paul on behalf of Priscilla and Aquila extended a special salutation to the church of Corinth in an expression of the friendly role the two spouses played by accommodating the church in their house for the salvation of souls.
Paul counted Priscilla and Aquila as worthy, righteous and faithful spouses in their service to the gospel work. He counted them worthy by mentioning their names in the Book of eternity, the Bible. Priscilla and Aquila were co-workers with Paul in the propagation of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul expressed his gratitude of Priscilla and Aquila's commitment to the gospel work. Several scripture references show that Priscilla's name appeared first in Paul's letters due to her total commitment to the gospel work. At one time, Priscilla and Aquila accompanied Paul to Ephesus for gospel work. They were well mentored by Paul, the apostle.
