John 14:1-3

"1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

Key verse:
"Ephesians 2:7 That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."

A touching story was told of a missionary from America who spent 40 years labouring in Africa. In the course of service, his wife died. He continued faithfully in ministry until he became very old and decided to return. He boarded a ship with an army general who had spent just two weeks’ vacation in Africa. On arrival he saw a crowd of people waiting and thought they came to welcome him for the service he dedicated all his life to do. The general disembarked from the ship first and all the people followed him. There was no one remaining to welcome the missionary when he followed after.

He was shocked and became confused. He did not even know where to go as he did not have any house of his own having been away for 40 years! Fortunately, he remembered an old friend and called his number for assistance. The friend came quickly with his wife and offered him a space in their apartment. When he got into the room, he was heartbroken. He lamented, “Lord, do You appreciate my life and service at all? Do my pain, sacrifice and loss mean anything to You? How could life be so cruel to me?”

Then God answered him from heaven saying, “My son, you have not come home yet. America is not the home I went to prepare for you. When you come to heaven, you will see the welcome I will give to you and the eternal rewards awaiting you.” It was then that the old man had his peace. In the world to come, God will unfold to us the riches of His grace. He will cause light to shine over us. Whatever the world does to your flesh cannot be compared with the reward God has laid in heaven for you.

Even if they break your bones or cut you into pieces, the crown of glory and righteousness is waiting for you. The beauty, majesty and glory of God shall come upon His righteous minister. The souls you bring to Jesus shall give you great joy in heaven. Your converts shall add to your joy in heaven. God shall comfort you because the tabernacle of God will be with men and God will be their Father and they shall be His sons. God will visit your mansion and discuss with you and all your sufferings will be forgotten. You shall reign with him forever!
