EVERY WORD OF GOD FOR DAILY LIVING BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA (Int. Director Holiness Revival Movement Worldwide) DATE: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2020 TEXT: HEBREWS 13:16-22 KEY VERSE: Hebrews 13:17 - Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. Moses prayed to God for a successor since he was going to die so as not to leave the Lord’s congregation as flock without a shepherd. There is always a shepherd over the people of God. There are people that argue and say, “No, there should be no leadership over the Church. The Holy Spirit should be the leader that whosoever the Holy Spirit will choose at each time let Him lead. Let no one come forward to be the standing leader.” Such people are wrong because even though God manifests Himself to us in three Personalities, one of the three is the leader – the Father. Jesus constantly deferred to the Father to show the leadership position of the Father in the Godhead.
The Father, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ are one in organizational hierarchy for redemption purposes. We discover that the Father had the role of the Sender, and the Son has the role of the Servant. The Lord Jesus also said, as I go to heaven, I will send the Holy Spirit. So you can understand that there is leadership and order among them. The leader is not greater for he is subject to divine examination and is also a seeker of eternal life as you are. But if the work must be well done, there must be a leader. Again, as you will observe from creation God is always raising up someone to lead His people. We see Moses leading the children of Israel out of Egypt. We see David leading the congregation of the Lord as king over them. Also in the New Testament, Jesus Christ came to the earth as the Leader. He is the Master. He chose apostles also to lead and among the apostles, we saw that Peter at one time was the leader. We saw authority also in James in the early church. Paul the apostle, as he advanced in his ministry, was a leader, leading and instructing others. Even animals have leaders. As they move, one is always in the front, showing them the way. It is like that among the birds, the sheep, and the cattle. In the secular world we have leaders over nations. Do we say, let no one become President over this nation? Do we say that anybody who wants to make a decree can rise up and make one if the Holy Ghost moves him? There will be confusion! Thought for the day: Sheep without a shepherd will scatter. Song for the day: I love my Jesus, my Jesus loves me, no circumstances.... Bible reading for the day: Jeremiah 3-4; 2 Thessalonians 3

I pray that we should understand why we have our leaders and submit to them, for they watch for our souls and must give account. Let us also pray for our leaders, for this is good.

I pray that God will give each man this knowledge about why we need a leader and how to respect and honor them.
